Intel has released new driver updates for their Bluetooth and WLAN devices. The drivers being rolled out update both the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers to version 22.140.0. To be exact, the Bluetooth driver has been updated to version 22.140.0.4, and the Wi-Fi driver has been updated to version 220.140.0.3.
The highlight of this release is that the Bluetooth 5.3 technology is now supported with this driver. So if you have the hardware, it is time to install the latest compliant drivers and speed up your transfers. However, you must also be running the supported operating system to use Bluetooth 5.3.
That said, the Intel Wi-Fi driver 22.140.0 does not include updates for the following device families:
- Intel Wireless 7265 Family (Rev.C)
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160
- Intel Wireless 7260
Moreover, Intel reminds their users that there will be no newer WLAN drivers for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 operating systems, starting with version 12.50.1.

How to Install Intel Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Drivers
Once you have downloaded the respective driver(s), the process to install it is simple.
Note: The process for installing both Wi-Fi and Wireless Bluetooth drivers is almost the same as the example given below. However, in the case of the Wireless Bluetooth driver, you may need to perform an additional step when choosing the type of installation. If so, select “Typical.”

Run the downloaded .exe file by double-clicking it. The installation wizard will now launch. On the first screen, click Next.
Begin installation -
Next, agree to the End User License Agreement by checking the box below and then click Install.
Agree to license terms and conditions -
The driver will then begin installation and the process should not take more than more than a minute. When done, click Finish.
Close installation wizard
The driver will now be successfully installed, automatically replacing the older version.

- Windows 10 Only:
- The issue of network connectivity loss on Intel Wi-Fi 6AX201 wireless adapters has been fixed.
- Windows 10 and 11:
- The issue of Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 wireless adapter connecting to 802.11ac speed rates instead of 802.11ax speed rates (when supported) when connecting specific mobile phones has been fixed.
- The problem of degradation seen when streaming 4k videos over Bluetooth headset on Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX411 adapters while using Dial BSS throughput has been addressed.

The following changes and fixes are implemented with this version of the Bluetooth driver:
- The following devices will now be compliant with Bluetooth 5.3 technology after installing this driver:

- The issue of certain headsets when switched off and then switched on, the device showing as “paired” instead of “connected” has been addressed.
- The problem of an audio noise observed after closing the lid or entering sleep mode on certain laptops on battery through a connected headset has been fixed.
- The problem of sound not working at all on certain Bluetooth speakers has been fixed.
