It requires at least DirectX 9. So it should run on DirectX installed by default in Windows 8.

None of these are DX 11, they’re DX 9. There was no DX11 in June of 2010. Microsoft doesn’t even have a separate installer for DX anymore. The DX 11 windows update is KB2670838.
