Windows 11 Builds 22621.601 & 22622.601 (KB5017384) Fixes Lock Screen Crash

Windows 11 Builds 22622.601 and 22621.601 have been rolled out to the Beta channel for Insiders, which fixes some previously known issues, but one still remains.

Windows 11 Insider Update

Microsoft has released KB5017384 on the Insider Beta channel for Windows 11. Depending upon which group you landed in, installing this update will either upgrade your operating system’s build to 22622.601 or 22621.601.

This update does not include any new features and only a handful of improvements. However, it still addresses some known issues that have been carried forward from the previous builds.

Let us now take a look into what this update offers.

New in Build 22622.601 and 22621.601 Both

The following fixes apply to both the builds in the Beta channel:

  • An issue where clicking the network icon on the Lock screen would not work and would crash the Lock screen is now fixed.
  • The start date for daylight saving time in Chile has been updated. It will now start on September 11, 2022, instead of on September 4, 2022.
  • The power that the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol consumes on some devices when they are in Sleep mode has been reduced.
  • An issue that affects Dual SIM calling has been addressed. If you select no SIM on your phone and initiate a call on your device, Dual SIM functionality will not work.

With these new improvements and fixes, there is also a known issue with these updates.

Known Issues

Microsoft has also disclosed a known issue with this flight. This problem has been carried forward from the previous flights.

There are reports that the audio has completely stopped working for some Insiders on the Beta channel since the last few flights. Although this issue has now prolonged for some time, Microsoft is still unable to fix it.
