The Insider Preview Beta channel has been updated with the most recent release by Microsoft. The new KB5005635, when installed, will take your Windows 11 build to 22000.194. Your operating system, if subscribed to the Beta channel, can now be upgraded to Windows 11 Build 22000.194 which brings about some general fixes and updates to a few applications (Snipping Tool, Calculator, and Clock with Focus Sessions).
This update is not only limited to the Beta channel, but also the commercial devices on the Release Preview channel. Commercial devices are devices that are enrolled in the Windows Insider Program for Business. Therefore, any commercial consumers on the Release Preview channel can upgrade their devices to test out the latest release from Microsoft.

Updates and Fixes
This update mostly focuses on fixes, however, Microsoft has made a few updates to their applications which include the Calculator, the Snipping Tool, and the Clock with Focus Sessions.
Apart from these updates, several significant fixes have been made:
- An issue where the artifacts in the title bar would become hard to see and use after enabling and then disabling a contrast theme has been addressed.
- The crash scenario with certain connected devices that resulted in being unable to use Bluetooth has been fixed.
- A problem has been resolved where certain apps did not display subtitles, especially the ones in Japanese.
- An issue occurring while typing with some 3rd party IMEs into the search box in the Settings app that occasionally results in the results being rendered elsewhere on-screen has been addressed.
- An issue with Windows PowerShell has been fixed where it created an uncertain number of child directories while using the Move-Item command. This issue was also recently addressed in Windows 10 update KB5005565.
- A change has been made to the infrastructure where a Virtual Machine (VM) running a Windows 11 operating system will need to meet the same hardware requirements as a physical machine.
Known issues
Users are claiming that they cannot see the new Taskbar and the Start Menu has stopped working after upgrading to Windows 11. If you are experiencing such scenarios, Microsoft suggests that you uninstall the latest cumulative update, and then try reinstalling it through Windows Updates.
- Microsoft is aware of an issue that is causing some Surface Pro X’s to bugcheck with a WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR.
- Users may not always be able to enter text when using Search from the Start Menu or the Taskbar. In such a case, Microsoft suggests to open Run using the Windows Key + R shortcut keys and then close it, while they work on a permanent fix.
- The system and Windows Terminal are missing in the menu when right-clicking the Start menu button (Windows Key + X).
- The Taskbar occasionally flickers while switching between input methods.
- The Search panel may not open at times from the Taskbar. In this case, try restarting Explorer.exe.
- The Widgets board may appear empty at times. Microsoft suggests you sign out and then sign back in if you face this problem.
- The widgets may appear of the wrong size on an external display.
- Some users may see irrelevant search results while using Search in the Microsoft Store.
- The language input switcher may occasionally stop working within Windows Sandbox.
- The IME context menu may not launch after clicking the IME icon in the Taskbar within the Windows Sandbox. Microsoft suggests working around this problem by navigating to Settings app > Time & language > Language & region > (e.g., English) three dots > Language options > (e.g., Microsoft IME) three dots > Keyboard options.
How to install Windows 11 Build 22000.194
To install this update, you already need to be running Windows 11 and subscribed to the Beta channel. If you have enabled Windows updates, you will automatically get “New features are ready to install” prompt.

Once done with the installation, navigate to the Settings app and then click Windows Update on the left. You will then see the following written in the right-hand pane.

Now, click the Download Now button. Once downloaded, the update will install automatically and show a Restart message. Click Restart now.
Once restarted, you can verify that the OS has been updated by typing in winver in Run.
Rollback/remove Windows 11 Insider Preview update
If you do not wish to keep the installed preview update for some reason, you can always roll back to the previous build of the OS. However, this can only be performed within the next 10 days after installing the new update.
To rollback after 10 days, you will need to apply this trick.
Cleanup after installing Windows Updates
If you want to save space after installing Windows updates, you can run the following commands one after the other in Command Prompt with administrative privileges:
