Microsoft Plans On Including Copilot Dictation Teams And Many Features In Outlook

It is nearly the end of the year, and Microsoft has put out its plans for 2024. Microsoft recently published its “Roadmap 2024” for Microsoft Outlook. A Roadmap outlines what Microsoft plans to do with Outlook in the coming year, and the plans look great.

Microsoft has suggested making the Outlook experience better for current users and including support for other emailing protocols. Many of the upcoming features are expected to be released before the end of 2023.

Microsoft Outlook is an email client that is available for various platforms, including Windows and Android. You can set up your Outlook with a Gmail account, and some others using the POP3 or IMAP protocols. But Microsoft plans on changing that by including support for more.

Here is a list of new features and support Microsoft plans on including over the next year:

  • Support for POP3 account
  • Offline support
  • PST file support
  • Ability to drag and drop emails and attachments onto the desktop
  • EML file support
  • Copilot integration
  • Automatic capitalization where necessary
  • Expandable headers in the message list
  • Conditional formatting
  • Ability to dictate text for emails
  • Keep declined meetings
  • File tab in Outlook search
  • Ability to reorganize folders
  • Coloring (Drawing tab) when composing an email
  • MSG file support
  • An Outbox folder
  • Image formatting
  • Message recall
  • S/MIME
  • Save As for attachments (select the folder to save to)
  • Share local files from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Shared calendar notifications for work accounts
  • Microsoft Teams integration tab in Search
